I hope the enemy mesmer or ranger don't see him, when s/he goes on his/her knees to cast the next godly 1 second kill spirit. They do see her/him? So who doesn't they interrupt them? Because they suck, I say!

Um, if played properly, a Ritualist can negate a TON of damage with spirits. Even early to mid game, by using something like Serpent's Quickness for the recharges.

My Rit made a half decent healer, but that was all.
GW really goofed, when they made Factions allot harder, and new characters a whole lot weaker. It really sux for occasional players, but it's probably a whole lot of fun for the few 1337 players amongst us.

I made it through the entire game easily with my Ritualist. Channeling is very good for henching stuff, and most people seem to appreciate the damage negation of spirit spamming. Or at least they seem fine when I say "I'm a protection Rit."
Assassins are not weak by any means, most people just don't know how to play them. Ritualist are amazing protection/support characters, but again, a lot of people seem to have no clue how to use them.
I don't think good use of either class is limited to leet players at all, just players who understand the game and actually read their skill descriptions.
